As an MAI of fifteen years and having completed my first commercial appraisal
(a golf course) in 1975, I am quite familiar with the valuation of business interests,
including partial interests. I have appraised several restaurants, motels, and
hotels and have reviewed several appraisals of such facilities. I have studied
the works of such experts as Stephen Rushmore and have taken and continue to
seek out business valuation courses, including one recently taken as fulfillment
of the current continuing education requirement of the State of Florida for Certified
General Appraisers. When schedule permits, I plan to attend the business valuation
course sponsored by the American Society of Appraisers (ASA).
